SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022) – Brandi Steele has been named Barn Crew of the Month for August at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The promotion is sponsored by the Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) along with Texas Corral, located in Shelbyville, Ind.
Steele currently has 15 horses stabled at the track. A team of eight, in addition to Steele, oversee operations in her barn and were selected for the honor based on a clean and neat shedrow as well as the condition and care of the horses.
Those who were recognized for this award from the Brandi Steele barn includes Assistant Trainer Jose Paye, Paul Schaeffer, Courtney Paye, Irma Hernandez, Josue Garcia, Sara Donjuan Adame, Osvin Sanchez, and Milagros Pretell. Steele is also actively involved in the care and upkeep of the horses on the track and recently purchased and built a new farm just minutes from the track along I-74. The facility includes paddocks, Equicizer and a barn with a red roof visible from the interstate. Steele currently has 35 at that facility ranging from foals and brood mares to racehorses.
As recipients of Barn Crew of the Month, the Steele Stable will receive $200 in gift cards to Texas Corral, located north of Shelbyville on Route 9 for a night out for the crew. Also, a banner will be displayed at their barn during the month to signify their award.
