SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022) – Campos Family Ventures led from start to finish to earn their first Leading Quarter Horse Owner title Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The group, managed by Gladys Campos, scored 12 wins on the year with purses of more then $345,000 for the honor.
“We are really excited to be here, and we didn’t expect this at all,” said Campos. “We are even more excited for next year now.”
Campos Family Ventures is based out of Connersville, Ind. with a training facility. This is the first year they have had a partnership with trainer Jessi Vazquez, who set a record for most wins and earnings (22, $609,311) by a female Quarter Horse trainer. Some of the top horses she conditioned for Campos Family Ventures included Rock Candy Blue, winner of the $116,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis Derby and HF Whoopi, winner of the $200,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity. In addition to their 12 wins in the Quarter Horse ranks, Campos Family Ventures also had nine wins in the Thoroughbred owner category.
“We started our business three years ago,” added Gladys. “This is the first year we took it more seriously. We thank the guidance from the Vazquez family in reaching this award.”
