SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 11, 2020) – Denny Jenkins of Georgetown, Ind., just 20 miles east of Louisville, Ky. bested a field of 14 players in the $2,000 Racing Rachel’s Warriors Contest Wednesday, Nov. 11. The final included the 14 preliminary round winners for a chance at the final prize money.

Jenkins was trailing in fourth place heading into the final leg of the five-race contest, which requires players to select a horse in each of the races in the contest. Payouts for horses that finish among the top three become the players bankroll.

Jenkins correctly selected the winner of the seventh race, He’s A Warrior, ridden by Tommy Pompell, to move into the lead with an overall bankroll of $35.10 to win the $1,000 first place prize. Van R. Bush of New Palestine, Ind. dropped down to second place with a tally of $32.20 to win $500 while Robert Baker finished third with a bankroll of $28.60 for the third-place prize of $300. Ben Deluca of Indianapolis finished fourth, winning $150 followed by Joyce Anderson of Nashville, Ind. in fifth place, who won $50.

Jenkins was presented with a “big check” to commemorate his big win in Racing Rachel’s Warriors Final, which is now in its eighth year at Indiana Grand. Each Wednesday, the contest was provided to players on-track at Indiana Grand with the top player winning a weekly prize and advancing to a spot in the final. Jenkins qualified during the seventh week of the contest.
