No turmoil with Mr Chaos in Unreachable Star Stakes

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022) – Mr Chaos and Jockey Rodney Prescott turned in another great performance to score the title in the $250,000 Unreachable Star Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The duo covered the one-mile event in a time of 1:38.44 as the favorite in the field of 10.

Mr Chaos is known for his early speed and Prescott got him right out of the gate quickly to secure the top spot. The three-year-old Turbo Compressor gelding was comfortable throughout and led the field into the stretch.

Prescott asked Mr Chaos for another gear and he delivered. Moving into the final furlong, Mr Chaos was well in hand for the win by one length over Too Bad Justice and Joe Ramos, who had tracked the top pair throughout, to finish second. Wire the Cash and Marcelino Pedroza Jr. finished third.

Mr Chaos paid $4.40 for the win. He is owned by Judy Dorris and Ken Sentel and trained by Robert Dobbs Jr. He was bred by Anthony Mathias of Indiana and is now five for 10 in his young career. The win in the Unreachable Star places him over $375,000 for career earnings.

“We are just thrilled with this horse and want to thank the owners, Judy (Dorris) and Ken (Sentel) for allowing us to train this horse,” said Kelly Dobbs, Robert Dobbs wife and assistant in their barn. “And Rodney (Prescott) did a great job. He knows this horse like the back of his hand. He’s a beautiful horse and we have big plans for him. He loves to do it and he’s excited to do it (race).”

After finishing second in his last two starts, both stakes races at Horseshoe Indianapolis, Mr Chaos add the Unreachable Star Stakes to his credentials with a win in the Crown Ambassador Stakes last year during Indiana Champions Day. All five career wins have been recorded in Indiana with Prescott aboard.

The Unreachable Star Stakes is named after the former Indiana bred standout, who retired in 2014 as the richest Indiana bred ever. The 2009 Horse of the Year, owned by Loosen Up Stables, is still among the top five in earnings with more than $784,000. The gelding won 17 races for trainer Tim Glyshaw and ran 64 times during his career. In honor of the standout gelding, his owners, Loren and David Osborne of Deerfield Farm, and Chuck Bebber of Loosen Up Stables, each donated $500 to Friends of Ferdinand, the accredited racehorse aftercare program in the state of Indiana in honor of Unreachable Star.
