SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Nov. 26, 2019) – As part of the Caesars Entertainment HERO program at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, members of the Equine Maintenance Facility recently completed a project for the new Dog Park, located at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Ind. The structure, designed and created by Mike White, was installed in the small dog section of the new facility, which opened earlier this fall.

The structure is a “dog condo” complete with a ramp on one side and stairs leading up to a platform on the opposite side. The top level is covered with a metal roof and features non-slide paint for the dogs to climb safely during their visit to the two-story structure.

Assisting White in delivery and set up of the “dog condo” included Justin Gabbard, Dean Gabbard and Terril Gabbard, who serves as the manager of the equine maintenance department. The project was one of several that the team participated in for Shelby Parks and Recreation. Earlier this year, the team assisted members of the Parks Department in planting trees for the dog park area, which includes three enclosures.

“We are excited to be part of the Shelbyville community and happy to have the ability to help with a project such as the Dog Park,” said Lindsay Fish, director of sales and business development as well as the coordinator of the HERO program at Indiana Grand. “Caesars Entertainment has a commitment to their communities through the HERO program which encourages team members to volunteer and give back.”

The HERO program was established by Caesars Entertainment to encourage and inspire all team members to volunteer in the community through various charitable causes. In it’s first year of operation at Indiana Grand, nearly 4,000 volunteer hours will be logged in by the end of 2019 by team members at the Shelbyville, Ind. facility. All types of service projects and special events have been supported by Indiana Grand team members in and around the community and Central Indiana.
