Triple Crown Packages now available

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Feb. 19, 2020) – Kentucky Derby Day is one of the most popular dates in horse racing. Indiana Grand Racing & Casino is a great venue to watch and wager on all the action for the first leg of the Triple Crown. The 146thrunning of the Kentucky Derby is set for Saturday, May 2 and reservations are now being taken. Each package sold includes $1 to racehorse aftercare programs.
Two separate areas offer packages for Kentucky Derby Day. The Clubhouse package is available for $80 per person and includes two drink tickets, deli lunch buffet, dinner buffet, a Kentucky Derby program and an Indiana Grand live racing program, and a Derby glass. The area opens at 11 a.m.
The Peruvian Tent, located trackside, also provides a package for Kentucky Derby Day at $70 per person. The area opens at 3 p.m. and includes two drink tickets, dinner buffet, Kentucky Derby program and an Indiana Grand live racing program and a Derby glass.
Estimated post time for the Kentucky Derby is 6:50 p.m., which overlaps with the live racing program at Indiana Grand. Packages include seating for the entire live racing program at Indiana Grand, which begins at 6:15 p.m. and concludes at approximately 10 p.m.
For those wishing to take in the day at the track without dining options, free general admission is available on a first come, first serve basis on the first floor of the grandstand as well as outdoor along the track. Those wishing to arrive prior to package times may visit Winner’s Circle Race Sports Pub during Triple Crown days to watch and wager on the earlier portions of the racing programs. Free parking is always available to guests at Indiana Grand.
In addition to the Kentucky Derby Day packages, Preakness and Belmont Packages are available. The Preakness, the second leg of the Triple Crown, will be held Saturday, May 16. Packages are $40 per person in the clubhouse and begin at 4 p.m. The package includes two drink tickets, dinner buffet, Preakness program and an Indiana Grand live racing program. The Belmont Stakes package, set for Saturday, June 6, begins at 4 p.m. in the Clubhouse for $40 with the same amenities as Preakness Day.
Live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing will resume Tuesday, April 14 for the 120-day racing season. Action will begin at 2:15 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays with Saturdays’ first post set for 6:15 p.m. No live racing will be held on six weekend dates, including Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 as well as Saturday, May 23, Saturday, September 5, Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14. Closing day is set for Wednesday, Nov. 18.
