Wisner Stable named Barn Crew of the Month

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (Oct. 1, 2019) – Tracey Wisner, longtime trainer on the Indiana circuit, was honored along with her staff as the September “Barn Crew of the Month” presented by the Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA). Members of the Wisner stable will receive $200 in gift certificates to Texas Corral of Shelbyville, also a sponsor of the monthly program.

A native of Michigan, Wisner has been competing at Indiana Grand since the inaugural season in 2003. She is currently ranked among the top 15 all-time leading trainers at the track and horses from her barn have earned more than $3 million in the 17-year history of racing at Indiana Grand.

Mainly campaigning older horses in her barn, Wisner currently has 16 horses stabled at Indiana Grand. She has earned eight wins this season and credits her help in the barn for the success of the stable.

“My crew has been with me for a long time,” noted Wisner. “They are very dependable, and it is nice to see them every morning. They are a special crew.”

Indiana HBPA began “Barn Crew of the Month” last year to help highlight those who work behind the scenes at the racetrack. The partnership with Texas Corral is also in it’s second year and gives those who work tirelessly on the backstretch the opportunity for an evening out of food and fellowship with their co-workers. Texas Corral offers a large menu of items, from steaks and seafood to ribs and sandwiches. The Wisner team will soon be visiting Texas Corral for their night out as the track’s latest “Barn Crew of the Month” for September. Members of the Wisner Stable include Francisco Cacho, Mario Baeha and Marcus Guerrero.

Wisner plans to relocate to Mahoning Valley in Youngstown, Ohio following the conclusion of the Indiana Grand meet in early November. She will return to Indiana next spring for the 18th season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing.
